Wild Horse Hot Springs is powered by the Mother Dragon artesian geyser. Our water is among the best in the world! Two hot water wells feed our 6 plunges with 95-98 degree water and 125-128 degree water at an astounding 1,200 GPM of natural pressure. We clean our pools everyday and all our pools are chemical free! There is a constant flow of new water coming into each pool and used water being drained. All plunges have hot water valves allowing guests the use of available hot water.  Plunges are communal and outdoors.

The geyser was discovered by accident when Molly Bartlett daughter of Montana's second governor Robert S. Smith homesteaded the land. Water was scarce here, so they began drilling a well. After days of drilling a huge column of hot water erupted. The geyser delivers 1,200 GPM of 128 degree water and is among the best mineral water in the world.

We are located about seven miles outside the small town of Hot Springs, Montana, halfway between Kalispell and Missoula, near the beautiful Flathead Lake, and not to far from Glacier National Park. 

Frequently Asked Questions

All our water is warm-hot mineral water. There is no way to make the water colder. Each individual tub has two water valves. One valve is a continuous flow of warm mineral water and the second valve may be opened to release hotter water, which will increase the temperature in the pool. Note that because our water source is Artesian the temperature of the natural flow of the water can fluctuate based on the Earth's movement. 

We have 6 individual pools all open to the public. We do not accept reservations for soaking, therefore you may have to share a pool when it is busy. We have implemented a 2 hour soak time to accommodate the soaking needs of our guests.

There are property dogs on our grounds that are very territorial. For your safety and your pets safety, please keep your pets inside your vehicle. NO Pets are allowed in the soaking area. NO EXCEPTIONS.

Please note: You are on the property and soaking at your own risk. There is a liability release that must be signed upon entering the bathhouse before soaking.
